AMD has officially rolled out its first branded memory modules for the North American market.

The chipmaker believes the move will take the guesswork out of memory selection and offer consumers a straightforward experience when looking for ideal memory modules for their rigs.

However, enthusiasts may find themselves disappointed as the new modules won’t exactly cater to their needs. The cheapest entertainment series runs at 1333MHz or 1600MHz, Performance series modules are clocked at 1600MHz, while Radeon edition modules run at 1866MHz. AMD will offer three different capacities, 2GB, 4GB and 8GB.

The new modules will be available through all major retailers in the US and Canada.
