Memory maker Transcend and research institute ITRI showed off a very impressive USB 3.0 flash drive in Taiwan over the weekend.
The drive is rather thin and it is a tad longer than run of the mill USB sticks, but engineers have somehow managed to stick 2TB of storage on this tiny form factor. The drive will apparently be available in 16GB to 2TB capacities.
However, if you were thinking about popping to the shop around the corner and getting one, you will have to wait. The drive is not available because the USB 3.0 standard hasn’t been officially set yet, so ITRI and Transcend will wait a bit before they actually ship it.
As for the price, Transcend aren’t saying anything. Don’t expect it to come cheap though.
