There has been some talk regaring the bug found and reported on Intel's official support forums regarding the data loss on its recently released 320-series SSDs and today, Intel has finally and officially confirmed it.

The users have mentioned that under power failures, the drive reverts back to 8MB capacity and thus looses all the data stored on the drive. According to preliminary reports the drive tries to reconnect with the SATA port rather than to go for a proper shutdown.

Unfortunately, there has been no word from Intel if the bug is actually a hardware or just firmware issue and when will it actually be fixed. For now, those that have bought the drive have to satisfy with the fact that "Intel is aware of customer sightings on Intel SSD 320 series" and can contact Intel representative or Intel cusotmer support.
