Corsair has updated its solid state drive offering with a third generation of the Force Series that will feature the Sandforce SF-2281 controller paired up with MLC NAND flash chips and SATA 6.0Gbps interface.

The Force Series 3 drives are rated to achieve read and write speeds of up to 550MB/s and 520MB/s with 4k random write at 85,000 IOPS. The new Force 3 Series will be available in 60, 120 and 240GB capacities, come bundled with a 3.5-inch adapted and feautre a three-year warranty.

The new Force Series 3 SSDs are scheduled to appear in market sometimes later this month with prices set at US $139, $219 and US $499 for the 60, 120 and 240GB F3 SSD.
