Hynix Semiconductor has developed what it claims
is the world's fastest and smallest 1-gigabyte mobile
DRAM.
According to a press release, the company
plans to start mass production in early 2008 and the chip will mainly used in
mobile phones. The chip can operate at 200 MHz and can
processing 1.6 gigabytes of data per second.
The new DRAM also allows its data
processing speed and method to be adapted to what ever device using the
chip.
