Transcend has just released its brand-new DDR3 1066MHz memory modules, which will support Intel's high-performance desktop platforms.

According to a press release, the DDR3 1066 MHz memory module has higher speed and bandwidth than DDR2 memory modules.

The company claims that the modules are a "perfect match" for systems using dual or quad core processors.
The DDR3 supply voltage has been decreased from 1.8V to 1.5V and reduced  power consumption by 30 per cent compared to the DDR2-800 U-DIMM.

The lower voltage of DDR3 also provides memory  for Intel's Bearlake series platforms. Transcend's DDR3 1066 MHz memory module is now available in 512MB and 1GB capacities.
