Our friends from South America managed to find out the
future plans from Seagate. The big company has delayed its 1000 GB hard drive
and it plans to finally release it in end of April. Chilehardware found out the rest of the details.
The new 1 TB hard drive is called Barracuda 7200.11 and is the eleventh generation of the Seagate drives. The drive supports new SATA II drives, NCQ and supports Perpendicular recording.
The drive has four patters and eight heads. It totally has 16 MB of memory. We don’t
know the suggested retail price but it will certainly be spicy. The biggest one
you can buy from Seagate is Barracuda ES 750GB 16MB SATA II and this baby today
cost around 270 Euros.
