PQI, a memory manufacturer is planning to show the working samples of 2.5 and 3.5 inch 128 GB Solid state drives. These drives have flash memory instead of magnetic boards and should have much better seek times.
The company also has samples of 1.8 inch 32 GB drives for smaller and portable devices. We still don’t have any indication about the final production of the drives but least we know that they are working.
These drives will still be very expensive in 2007 but we know that they got a lot of attention. You will be able to see them next week at Cebit of course.
