ATI is still trying to confuse the market with its codenames, but as we said before, R680 is not a single chip card, it is a codename for two RV670 chips on a single PCB.
Two of these cards will make for quad crossfire and the drivers for this feature should be ready in late January or early February of 2008.
If all goes well the R680 will be faster than Nvidia’s Tri SLI and will take the performance crown, but Nvidia is working hard on quad SLI. They will have two D8E codenamed cards, which will make for quad SLI.
We wonder who will win this one?
