Intel's Battlemage GPUs Set for Year-End Launch

Aligns with the expected September launch of Intel’s Lunar Lake

Chipzilla's forthcoming Battlemage GPUs are anticipated to debut before the year's end.

During a conference with Asus, Intel discussed various topics, including updates on its current instability issues and the upcoming Arrow Lake CPUs. However, the highlight was the revelation about the Battlemage GPUs, which are vying for a place among the top graphics cards.

The news, initially shared on the Weibo forums and picked up by VideoCardz, suggests that Intel plans to release the Battlemage graphics cards before the end of the year.

This aligns with the expected September launch of Intel’s Lunar Lake CPUs, which feature integrated graphics based on the same architecture. Additionally, several shipments of engineering samples have surfaced, indicating an imminent launch.

Although the post lacks images of Battlemage or slides confirming a release this year, the rumour remains plausible. It has been two years since the Arc A770 and A750 were released, and Intel would likely aim to introduce its next-generation GPUs before facing increased competition from AMD and Nvidia.

Nevertheless, Intel has yet to publicly confirm the launch of its next-gen GPUs before the year's end.

Beyond GPUs, Intel provided other noteworthy updates. Regarding the next-generation Arrow Lake desktop chips, Intel claimed these CPUs would achieve the same clock speeds as the 14th-gen CPUs while consuming 100 watts less power. The company assured attendees of the stability of these CPUs, addressing concerns about the crashing issues plaguing the 13th-gen and 14th-gen CPUs.

Intel discussed the forthcoming microcode update for the 13th-gen and 14th-gen CPUs, expected in mid-August. The report asserts that this update will not diminish performance on these CPUs, addressing one of the primary concerns regarding Intel's instability issues.

Further details about Intel’s plans for the latter half of the year are expected in September. Following the Lunar Lake launch, Intel will host its Innovation event on 24 September, where more information about Battlemage and Arrow Lake may be revealed.
