Although most information has already leaked, the Radeon RX 7600 came with a few surprises, starting with the 6nm manufacturing process, as well as the last-minute price adjustment to $269. In case you missed it earlier, it features a fully-enabled Navi 33 GPU based on RDNA 3 architecture, packing 32 Compute Units (CUs), for a total of 2,048 Stream Processors. This means it has 64 AI Accelerators, 32 Ray Accelerators, 64 ROPs, and 128 TMUs.
It will pack 8GB of 18Gbps GDDR6 memory paired up with a 128-bit memory interface, leaving it with 288GB/s of memory bandwidth. It also has 32MB of 2nd gen Infinity Cache. Compared to the Radeon RX 6600, it looks like a big upgrade, with more Stream Processors, faster memory, higher clocks, AV1 hardware encoding, and more. On the other hand, it is also more power-hungry at 165W.
Performance-wise, all is not that impressive, as you pretty much end up with a performance similar to the Radeon RX 6650 XT, and it is slightly faster than the Radeon RX 6600 XT, by around 8 to 10 percent. Of course, this is not comparable, as this is a non-XT card, and it is indeed faster than the Radeon RX 6600 non-XT, and, on top of it, it launches at a lower price compared to the Radeon RX 6600, which launched at $329 back in the day.
At the end of the day, the Radeon RX 7600 is a pretty good graphics card for 1080p gaming. Of course, Nvidia has just released the Geforce RTX 4060 Ti, which is a whole different ballpark at $399, but it is also 25 percent faster, and it is preparing the $299 priced Geforce RTX 4060 for July launch, which should put a lot of pressure on AMD, as Nvidia will happily and justifiably market its RT and DLSS 3 performance.
