Powercolor's RX 7900 XTX Liquid Devil gets tested

by on06 March 2023

Much higher clock and 375W power draw

Der8auer managed to put Powercolor's RX 7900 XTX Liquid Devil card through its paces showing what it means to be a proper custom Radeon RX 7900 XTX card.

In case you missed it, the Powercolor RX 7900 XTX Liquid Devil is set above the air-cooled Red Devil series and although it has the same custom board design, it comes with EK Water Blocks custom full-cover water block.

It also works at rather high GPU clock settings, pushing the card to either 2680MHz or 2615MHz for the GPU, depending on whether it is running on OC or Unleash BIOS. Of course, it draws a bit more power, justifying the triple 8-pin PCIe power connectors, as it draws between 355W to 375W, depending on the BIOS, and up to 440W when overclocked, where it boosts up to 2.8GHz.

As caught by Videocardz.com, Roman “der8auer” Hartung focused solely on the custom design, power, clocks, and overclocking, and with just a minor coil whine, It was hard not for him not to say that this is the best RX 7900 XTX money can buy, at least so far.
