Despite being as rare as hen's teeth, AMD has decided to do a special edition reference Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics card, and while we welcome AMD's idea to get graphics cards into the hands of gamers, rather than scalpers and miners, and at MSRP pricing, it appears that either the batch was rather small or it backfired, as it got sold out in a matter of hours, if not minutes.
AMD made the sale public and one could argue that it would be better if AMD somehow made it exclusive to AMD members, or gamers, as some of these did end up in the hands of scalpers as you can already find it on eBay for as high as $1,900.
The card itself is the same as the standard reference RX 6800 XT, with the same 2.5-slot triple-fan cooler, and the only difference is the all-black color scheme.
The card still packs 72 RDNA2 compute units, comes with 16GB of GDDR6 memory with 128MB of Infinity Cache, and works at reference 2015MHz game clock.
Hopefully, AMD will learn from this launch and somehow try to make it better in the future, but for now, good luck in finding a graphics card close to MSRP.
