AMD will deliver Radeon Software to desktops and mobiles

by on08 January 2019

Starting with Q1 2019

While the new 2nd gen Ryzen Mobile CPUs were the star of AMD's CES 2019 announcement, the company also said that in Q1 2019, Radeon Software will be available for both desktop, as well as Ryzen Mobile series APUs, including the Ryzen 2000, 3000 series APUs, and new Athlon APUs.

Earlier, AMD had a big problem in delivering Radeon Software updates for Ryzen Mobile chips due to support from OEMs, and this was one of the biggest complaints from users running on those platforms.

According to details provided by AMD, it appears that this will change this quarter as AMD plans to offer its Radeon Software updates, including "game ready" drivers and bug fixes, for both desktop and Mobile platforms.

AMD is doing a lot when it comes to software support and the recently released big Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition update as well as its latest commitment to provide drivers for both desktop and mobile chips certainly shows that hardware is only as good as the software behind it.
