First up he said that Nvidia's new Pascal-based Tesla P4 and P40 GPUs will be able to detect and sense images, texts and voices, and feature improved performance and response time. The P4 will begin shipping in November and the P40 October (it might get a P45 if it fails to interest punters.)

Nvidia and Quanta Computer have designed a series of 1U to 4U GPU-based servers. Quanta also assisted in Nvidia's development of DGX-1 artificial intelligent super computer.

Huang showed Nvidia’s Drive PX 2 platform for car infotainment system and portable navigation device (PND). The platform has already been adopted by China-based Baidu for its automatic driving system.

He added that the Nvidia will also cooperate with National Taiwan University (NTU) to establish Taiwan's first Artificial Intelligence Lab and will supply a DGX-1 to the lab for research.

Nvidia also signed a memorandum of cooperation with Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) to develop artificial intelligent applications. ITRI's automatic driving car prototype is already in road test and will initially drive mainly on fixed routes in theme parks or public transportation systems.
