Nvidia shows Doom 2016 on Vulkan API at Dreamhack

Running on Geforce GTX 1080

During its pre-Dreamhack show where it announced both its new Pascal-based Geforce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 graphics cards, Nvidia also showed a neat gameplay video of the upcoming Bethesda Doom game running on Vulkan API and Geforce GTX 1080.

This is actually the first time Doom was spotted running on Vulkan API and was the first time the company has confirmed that the game will have support for the new API. According to a couple of reports, the game was running at 1080p on Ultra Settings and GTX 1080 managed to pull at up to 200 fps, with minimum framerate never dropping below 60 fps.

Bethesda has also announced that the support for the Vulkan API will be available shortly after the official launch of the game.

Bethesda's Doom should launch in just a few days, on May 13th, but we won't see it running on Geforce GTX 1080 before May 17th, when Nvidai's review NDA is scheduled to expire.
