While details are quite scarce in the new "projected roadmap" from AMD, it did raise a couple of questions as well as show a bit more details about future, including the new Navi GPU architecture that will be coming in 2018 and focus on scalability as well as feature the new "next-gen memory".

The Vega GPU architecture, which should succeed the upcoming 14nm Polaris GPU architecture, will be coming in 2017 and use 2nd-generation High Bandwidth Memory (HBM2).

The most interesting is the fact that Polaris GPU architecture does not say anything about the memory but rather only that we will see 2.5x performance per watt improvement. This suggest that Polaris will most likely stick to 1st-generation High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) for high-end and probably GDDR5(X) for mid-range lineup.

Hopefully, AMD will unveil a bit more details about Polaris during GDC 2016 show as, so far, company only showed a short demo.
