The GTX 460 is a somewhat strage beast, as it is available with 192-bit and 256-bit memory interfaces and, as a result of this, with 768MB and 1048MB of memory.
However, some partners are gearing up to introduce 2GB versions of the new card and this could make things even more interesting, or confusing. Sparkle has announced a 2GB card shortly after the GTX 460 launch. The card's designation is SXX4602048D5NM. It's reference clocked and we can't say that it has a catchy name, but we believe other vendors will offer some overclocked models as well.
Of course, it's worth noting that the extra memory won't deliver a massive performance boost in many titles. Despite this, vendors simply like to include a bit more memory in the package as it sounds good for marketing.
