Since we didn't get an official announcement from Ubisoft, other than a short Tweet from MCV and an official trailer from Ubisoft, we still do not have a lot of details other than it will focus on the 19th century, the dawn of the industrial age.

As it was the case with earlier Anno games, this one will also focus on diplomacy, trade or warfare, where you will have a couple of different strategies to win the game.

In the meantime, Ubisoft's Anno 1800 dedicated website has gone online with a couple of screenshots from the game.

Unfortunately, the game is still in its early stage and won't be finished before winter next year so there will be plenty of opportunities and shows to see some gameplay.
