The new DLC is called Storm Island and it is best described as “extreme racing” in “extreme conditions”. Storm Island also brings 90 new events and five new event types to Forza Horizon 2. The new event types are Rampage, Brawl, Extreme Cross Country, Cross Country Circuit, and Gauntlet.
The DLC opens up a new area (an island) that has a focus on stormy weather and extreme terrain conditions. If you are thinking off road rally racing in the rain, you have a pretty good idea what to expect. It does add five news Off-Road Cars as well. The five new Off-Road cars include:
- 2013 Robby Gordon #7 Speed Energy Drink Stadium Super Truck
- 2013 MINI X-Raid All4 Racing Countryman
- 2014 Ford Ranger T6 Rally Raid
- 1981 Ford Fiesta XR2
- 1992 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4
The Storm Island DLC includes 23 new achievements that add a total of 500 gamerscore.
Here is the not so good news. The Storm Island DLC is an add-on. It is not part of the Season Pass which was just for the additional car packs. It will retain for $20 to buy, but good news if you happen to be a Forza Horizon 2 VIP, as you will only have to pay $10 for it.
