In a surprising bit of news, Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will support cross-platform save imports from either the Xbox 360 or the PlayStation 3.

With the cross-platform save imports, players will be able to take save data created on Diablo 3 on either the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 and import that data into Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition on the Xbox One or PlayStation 4. (The ability to export save game data and transfer it between the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 is not supported.)

In order to complete the transfer of the save game data, players will have to link their Xbox Live Gamertag or PlayStation PSN ID to Battle.net. Once linked the process is painless and handled through the in game menus. The process is easy to use and works very quickly.
