Sources are confirming to us that Microsoft will announce a Halo collection to be called “Halo” The Master Chief Collection” for an Xbox One release this November. The collection is said to include Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4 all remastered HD and packaged for release on Xbox One this November to celebrate the anniversary of Halo 2 and start the journey of Halo on the Xbox One console.
Whispers suggest that none other than Saber Interactive who worked on the Xbox 360 version of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition for the Xbox 360 is quarterbacking the development of the Master Chief Collection for Xbox One release.
While it has been rumored for some time that a remastered Halo 2 was coming for the Xbox One, it was thought that this would be similar to what we say with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition for the Xbox 360. While they are leaving ODST and Halo: Reach out of the package, it still will be likely be a big release for the Xbox One.
To add to the rumors we are also reaching that the Master Chief Collection will be offered in two versions, a standard release as well as a collector’s edition. Access to the Halo 5 beta is rumored to be part of the deal depending on which version you buy. We expect to hear all the specifics from Microsoft on stage at E3.
