Beyond the suggestion that it could be a Wii U title and that it might have to take new and different advantage of the Wii U’s GamePad, not much else beyond the comment that the development team is ready for its next challenge.
Of course many will have to question the point of Nintendo putting so much of a push behind another Mario title, but as one analyst told us, “Nintendo has little choice other than to play to its strengths and that includes delivering the games like Smash Bros. and Mario that buyers of the Wii U expect Nintendo to deliver and that isn’t going to change. We doubt however that regardless of how good the game is in the end that it will have the ability to move the sales needle of the Wii U for Nintendo.”
We have to admit that we sort of wish that Nintendo would just go ahead and scrap the Wii U and get on with releasing a new console and developing these new titles for it.
