“The decision to delay the release of the Wii U version was made in order to focus the limited resources of the development team on the release of the versions that have the broadest possible benefit for both the customers and Ubisoft,” said a Ubisoft spokesperson.
The rumors that the Wii U version had been canceled began to gain momentum once it disappeared from Nintendo’s release schedule. It would seem, however, that Ubisoft is committed to a Wii U version of Watch Dogs. It is a question of how long it will wait after the other versions are released. We suspect that it will depend on how many resources Ubisoft can put on the Wii U version after the release on the other platforms as the team transitions to the post-launch DLC that is expected for the game.
