Ubisoft is developing a new racing game in its Ubisoft Reflections studio. The racer is said to be called “The Crew” and is new IP that is said to be an exclusive for the next generation consoles. Of course, Ubisoft would not confirm if this is one of the titles the company has in development that it intends to show at E3. (It isn’t known if Ubisoft is planning a version of the title for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as well.)

The Reflections studio is known to be helping out on the Ubisoft Watch Dogs title, but it is still apparently also working on The Crew. Beyond the fact that it is a racing title, we hear whispers that it is intended to compete with the Forza and Gran Turismo franchises that Microsoft and Sony already have in the pipeline.

Reflections has not been working on racers lately, and has not worked on a racing title since Driver: San Francisco. Sources say, however, Reflections has reached into the deep unemployed racing developer talent pool to assemble an impressive team that has experience with multiple racing titles. It remains to be seen, however, if Reflections can create something that is competitive with the Forza and Gran Turismo franchises.
