Atari had announced that it was in the process of trying to sell off what remained of the studio, if possible, and if it was unable to find a buyer it would close the developer. The majority of the developers at Eden were let go in the summer of 2011, with many of the developers later finding a home at Blossom Minds.
The news that the studio was to be officially moved to liquidation comes as little surprise. Test Drive Unlimited 2 never reached the kind of sales numbers that Atari had hoped for. The game was said to have only sold around 900,000 copies, which was very disappointing and not near the performance level expected for the title.
