Stainless Games is working on the new reboot of Carmageddon, which is now called Carmageddon: Reincarnation. The game was originally talked about in 2011; and then we heard more about it when the studio went on to receive $600,000 as part of its Kickstarter drive to get the game to the finish line.

The Carmageddon reboot has received a major infusion of cash from a new investor. The investor is none other than founder of Bullfrog and former EA European studios, VP Les Edgar. Edgar has invested $3.5 million into the development of Carmageddon: Reincarnation.

The additional funding will help the studio get the game converted to both next-gen platforms. While the funding is great, no publisher has been announced yet, and no official release date has been confirmed.
