While Crytek is far from confirming it as the next direction for Crysis, the developer has confirmed that Crysis 3 is the last title in the current Crysis trilogy. The Trilogy will end with the release of Crysis 3 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC when it arrives on February 19th in North America and on February 22nd in Europe.

So where does that leave Crysis and the possibility for a Crysis 4? A new Next Generation Crysis is possible, but sources confirm the developer is far from answering the necessary questions on when the game might start development and whether or not it would or would be a free to play title.

We suspect that a lot of it will have to do with the sales of Crysis 3 and how much fans want a new Crysis title. The bottom line is we should not be looking for it anytime soon.
