Rockstar Games and publisher Take Two Interactive have confirmed what many of us had been hearing whispers about. GTA V will not make release this spring, but instead it is now slated to arrive on September 17th to allow for additional development time.

Beyond that, the developer and publisher indicated they had no additional comment, including the possibility of either a Wii U or PC release of the game. Right now, only the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game are set to release on the new announced release date.

The news is sure to make both platform gamers unhappy because they have a much longer than expected wait; and investors are eager to see the game release so it can deliver its $600+ million in projected sales.
