Team Meat has confirmed that they are bringing an all new Meat Boy game to iOS. The new game will be called Super Meat Boy: The Game, and it will mean an all-new version of the game that will use a touch-controlled scheme designed for iOS devices.

The game is not a port of the Xbox Live Arcade game that became so popular, nor the PC version. This is because of the “twitch” style controls that require a level of precision not really  possible on a touch screen device. The developers believed that because of this fact a direct port would have been garbage.

Since the game isn’t a port, the iOS version will feature new art and sound. Team Meat did not announce an intended release date for the iOS version beyond confirming that the game was in development.
