Black Ops to go with dedicated servers
PC owners get what they want for this COD
PC gamers who were unhappy with the decision by Infinity Ward to drop dedicated server support in the last COD release will be pleased to know that this will apparently not be a trend continued by Treyarch this time around. It has been confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops for the PC release will offer dedicated server support for multiplayer modes.
The decision by Treyarch is working, however, to consolidate the experience between the PC and console versions of the game in an attempt to offer a more seamless experience for those on the PC that want it. It is expected that people who want to run BlackOps servers will be able to do so.
While all of the details on dedicated server support for the PC do not appear to have been ironed out yet, the clear indication that Treyarch is heading in this direction should be good news for those who didn’t like the PC offering last time around. We expect to hear more specific details over the next several months as the company gets closer to ramping up for release.
