During a recent interview, Gareth Wilson from developer Bizarre Creations said, “Right now we don’t have any plans for a Geometry Wars 3,” and this news has sent a shock wave across the world to Geometry Wars players far and near who have been patiently waiting for the third installment in the franchise.

While Wilson left a small crack in the door open, hinting that it might be possible to see another Geometry Wars installment in the future, any hope for it is a long way off, as developers are working on other projects such as the upcoming release of Blur. We have to admit that it was difficult news to hear, but playing the Blur multiplayer beta will ease the pain some. The Blur multiplayer beta is pretty good; and while it is certainly no Geometry Wars, the fact that they have not totally closed the door on another installment at least gives us hope.
