Sony will be trying its own promotion, which they are calling “Spring Fever 2010,” to promote and market their downloadable games and content. Of course, this follows in the footsteps of Microsoft, who has been experimenting with these promotional activities for some time now.

The Spring Fever 2010 promotion will start today and run until June 1st. Each day a number of PlayStation 3 and PSP downloads will be discounted as much as 50% off during this promotion. The content changes daily, so you have to check in to keep up with what is on sale.

As part of the promotion, those that purchase something during the Spring Fever 2010 promotion will get the added bonus of receiving a male or female Spring Fever Home Avatar Costume as a free gift. Males will get the Spring Bumblebee costume, while females will get the Spring Flowerpot costume.
