Will try to make a dent in the soccer arena

Ubisoft will be taking a shot at attempting to cash in on the video game soccer market space with the release this May of Pure Football for the Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3. The decision will put Ubisoft on the field with competitors Electronic Arts and Konami, but Ubisoft thinks that space is available for another soccer game.

The Pure Football title looks to be a lot closer to EA’s FIFA Street title with a five-on-five play style through an over-the-shoulder camera angle during play. The game looks to be a stab at an arcade type of title with no ref and some very arcade-oriented elements. The game will support local multiplayer as well as online 1 vs. 1 play.

We are told to expect it to arrive in May, but beyond that we know little more about the title at this time.
