Forza
Motorsport 3 owners will be pleased with the news that the game has now
surpassed the threshold of 2 million units sold and sales are continuing to
grow. The news comes hot on the heels of the news from Polyphony Digital that
Gran Turismo has sold over 55 million units across the entire franchise. The
sales numbers for Forza 3 are quite impressive when you consider that the game
was able to sell over 1 million units in the first month alone.
To
celebrate the 2 million-sold milestone, Turn 10 studios is releasing the first
track download for Forza 3. The Nurburgring Gran Prix Circuit Track Pack was
released for download starting yesterday and will go for 400 Microsoft points.
The Nurburgring Track Pack will feature both the long and short versions of the
track and an ability to obtain speeds of 200 miles per hour with the right car.
The
popularity of Forza 3 continues to grow, and so does owner satisfaction with
the title. Turn 10 has done an excellent job of releasing additional content,
which has come mostly in car packs to this point; but with the release of this
first track pack, we suspect that the company has more track packs in the
works.
If
the game continues to sell and maintain momentum, sources tell us that Turn 10
will continue to crank out additional content for Forza 3. While neither
Microsoft nor Turn 10 studios have reported actual sales numbers on how well
the additional content has sold for Forza 3, from the whispers that we hear the
content has sold much better than expected, with the Forza 3 community
supporting each and every DLC release so far. This provides more encouragement
for Turn 10 to crank out even more. For our two cents worth, we have enough
cars, but we would like to see some additional tracks released.
