With the release of Mass Effect 2 upcoming in the new year, news has reached us that players of the first Mass Effect will be able to import their save file to gain extra bonuses in the new title.

The level at which your character achieved in the first game will dictate the amount of bonus you will get in the new game. The higher your character, the larger the bonus will be. Of course, this will encourage those that have either not finished the original Mass Effect or have not been playing it lately to perhaps go back and play it, to level up their character prior to the release of Mass Effect 2.

While the developers have not yet revealed what all might be included with this bonus, it is for sure a unique way to tie the two games together. Mass Effect is still on track to arrive on January 26th for the Xbox 360 and PC platforms.
