SouthPeak Games is now confirming that the upcoming release of what can only be described as the most non-traditional game of football that you will ever see will arrive on January 26th when Blood Bowl shows up on retailer shelves.

While some have described the game as the spiritual successor to the original Mutant League football that Electronic Arts released many years ago on the Sega Genesis platform, the new Blood Bowl has its roots deeply implanted in the Warhammer series. The game will feature tricks, weapons and vicious bloody game play that you can only imagine from a title with this name.

When released, the game will initially be available for the Xbox 360 and PC platforms with a PSP version to be released later in the year. From the video and screen shots that we have seen so far, we can say that it is a unique title that should draw many football fans in.
