Michael Jackson was behind Sonic 3's soundtrack
Fellow composer reveals
The original composer for Sega's all-time favorite console platformer Sonic the Hedgehog 3, has recently admitted that the late king of pop, Michael Jackson, has been the one to come up with the soundtrack.
In an interview with the French magazine Black & White, Brad Buxer said how he never actually played the game and so he doesn't know which tracks were actually kept, but confirmed that it was them two who made the soundtrack. Mr. Buxer went on saying that Michael called him up for help with this project, and Brad accepted the deal.
Unfortunately, it's been a while since we've got rid of our favorite prop-your-door-open device, so we can't confirm first hand whether Michael Jackson was indeed credited, but it seems not. Mr. Buxer suggests that if he wasn't on the credits, it's due to the fact that he was not happy with the console's delivery of the end product.
He mentioned how the consoles of the time had pretty lousy sound reproduction (Really? sub.ed.), how Michael found that frustrating and thus didn't want to be associated with a product that "devalued his music". Furthermore, he says that similarities between Sonic 3's credit theme and Jackson's Stranger in Moscow is in no way coincidental, as the theme was actually a building base for the actual song.
