Ubisoft Toronto gets a leader
Jade Raymond to run the new studio
Assassin’s Creed II producer Jade Raymond will be the new head cheese of the Ubisoft Toronto studio that is due to come online early next year. Raymond will report to Yannis Mallat, who is the CEO of both Ubisoft Montreal and Toronto studios.
While we already know that the new Toronto studio will be home to about 800 new jobs as well as the development of “AAA” titles and new IP, we don’t yet know all of the specifics. This, of course, is to be expected as the studio isn’t even officially online yet.
Raymond has been with Ubisoft since 2004 in the producer role and is said to be able to bring focus and creativity to the role, according to our sources who suggest that her selection was an excellent choice. Raymond has been taking a bit of a low key role as a producer on Assassin’s Creed II, while she was much more involved in the first chapter in the franchise. She has also recently been involved in working with some other projects, according to our sources.
