Capcom to go back to the classics
Will open the vault for PS3 and PSP versions
Capcom will be following the lead of many other companies these days and open the vault of classics and ready them for release on both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable platforms. While this resurrection of sorts will start with the PS3 and PSP versions, the potential of additional platforms is at least possible in the future, depending on the reception of the initial releases. What this likely means, according to our sources, is if they sell well they might investigate making at least some of them available for the Xbox 360 and the Wii.
Classic titles said to be included in the first wave from Capcom include Mega Man Powered, Dino Crisis, Powerstone, Mega Man Maverick Hunter, Resident Evil 2, Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.
While no official release timetable has been announced, according to our sources the re-releases for the PS3 and PSP will be spaced out over the next several months, with at least a title or two arriving in the next 60 days.
