Electronic Arts has announced the sequel to one of the most popular driving franchizes ever Need for Speed, and we now know that NFS Nitro is due to arrive worldwide on November the 17th.

NFS sales weren't quite blooming lately, and this was blamed on the drifting away from the original spirit of the series, so EA hopes this might get them back on track – and what better way than by capitalizing on Wii's casual gaming public.

Note that NFS Nitro is the first installment that will be exclusively developed for Wii and DS, and will allow for gaming with the nunchuk, Wii remote, GameCube pad, DS Stylus, etc.
