We had a pretty good laugh this morning after seeing EA’s method to fix an issue that shouldn’t be an issue in the first place. Namely, something went wrong in the process of printing C&C: Red Alert manuals, so some users received a 19 character CD key, instead of the 20 character one.
Naturally, users complained so EA came up with a solution that would impress your average ape. They advised their users to do the following; are you ready, sit tight, this is going to blow your mind – GUESS! Exactly, since you have 19 characters, there is only one left, so you might as well try your options.
As practical (read cheap) as this solution is for EA, it certainly puts a bad face on their customer support. I mean, what’s the next money-saving solution: “Sir, your C&C: RE 3 lottery ticket is not a winner. But hey, at least you get to play again for only $49.99!”
