FIFA 09, the latest installment in the popular football (soccer) series has been selling great and earned itself the top position on U.K. sales charts. Closing October 11th, the game has sold 1.2 million copies in Europe in the first week alone.

A nice surprise is sitting in 2nd place, Lego Batman – which has received some nice reviews; whereas Wii Fit came in third. Activision-Blizzard’s Star Wars: The Force Unleashed came in fourth, leaving behind titles such as Brothers in Arms, Mario Kart Wii, etc.

It’s important to note that although not first on the chart, three of the games in the list are Wii-based, which is not too shabby for Nintendo, eh?
