A Thai games distributor has halted sales of Grand Theft Auto following a gruesome murder of a taxi driver perpetrated by a teen obsessed by the violent game.
Following the crime, New Era Interactive Media sent out requests to its shops and outlets cease sales of GTA that urged game arcades to pull the game, as well.
Thai authorities have the 18-year-old accused of the crime in custody. On Monday, he confessed to the crime, saying he was trying to recreate a scene from the game. Police claim he's an obsessive GTA player, but has shown no sign of mental problems under questioning.
If found guilty, the teen faces death by lethal injection.
