On last night’s QuakeCon keynote, John Carmack revealed that Rage will look worse on XboX 360. Apparently, cramming the game on two DVDs will require compression that will ultimately decrease graphics quality.

Of course, a third disc was an option, but Carmack said that royalty fees would be too high. He also emphasized that this has nothing to do with XboX 360 hardware and that it’s strictly a matter of storage.

Well, now it’s finally clear why we’ve read so much about HD DVD vs. BluRay, as Carmack also mentioned how Sony PlayStation’s BluRay support is a nice advantage.
