Microsoft has denied that it has a high defect rate on its Xbox 360.

San Jose Mercury News asked Todd Holmdahl, Microsoft's corporate vice president of Gaming and Xbox Products Group, if he was concerned about
web comments relating to the Xbox 360's defect rate.

Holmdahl denied that there are any "systematic issues." dispite the fact that pictures were published online that seemed to show new heat sinks
being installed in repaired versions of the console.

Microsoft claimed that "updating console components is common place," but the company would not confirm the presence of the new cooling components.
Holmdahl said there was anecdotal evidence is from a "vocal minority," about defects in the Xbox 360.
