Sony dropped the price of its PSP Core Pack by $30 today. In a move which is fairly typical for a Sony product in the middle of its cycle the price has been dropped as part of a promotion. Later it will become enshrined as the official price.

The PSP has been selling reasonably well at the standard price and many had been wondering if Sony would bother dropping the price at all. In fact the price drop had come a bit late given Sony's previous history of price drops. 

From today the PSP Core Pack is being marked down from $199.99 to $169.99.
