Focus on AI and bringing high end features to mainstream

Qualcomm has officially announced its newest Snapdragon 710 SoC at the Qualcomm AI Day in Beijing, China, bringing up to 2x the performance of the previous generation Snapdragon 660 SoC, with a big focus on AI, as well as offering some of the premium features from the high-end Snapdragon 845 SoC.

Could be the new Qualcomm Wear SoC

According to the latest rumours, Google is working on a Pixel-branded smartwatch, or smartwatches, which could be launched alongside the Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL and 2nd-gen Pixel Buds. The word on the street is that it has the new Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear SoC.under the bonnet.

8nm and 10nm 2+6 cores

Qualcomm is expected to launch its 700 series rather soon and the latest leaks describe two rather robust products coming soon. The Snapdragon 700 series was launched by Cristiano Amon,  the company’s president at the Mobile World Congress 2018 without going into any details.

The gaming phone

Xiaomi has another rather interesting phone in the pipeline. This time it is a gaming phone, something to succeed Razer. The phone - codenamed Blackshark - comes with the Snapdragon 845 and 8GB of RAM. The codename could actually even be the product name as apparently Xiaomi owns a company with the same name.

More details about the highly anticipated OnePlus 6 have been revealed. The Snapdragon 845, 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage version has been confirmed.

Softbank spills the beans

None other than Softbank leaked the fact that Snapdragon 855, a chipset that will power the Galaxy S10 and other top Android phones in 2019 which will come with Snapdragon X50 5G NR modem.

Cristiano Amon told us not so long ago that Samsung and Qualcomm are now big friends and allies, and confirmed that Samsung will be working with Qualcomm on current and future phones. Now, both companies have announced that Snapdragon 5G chipset will be using Samsung’s 7nm LPP EUV process.
