The new Gigabyte GA-990X-Gaming SLI is based on a standard ATX form-factor and features support even for AMD's FX-9000 series 220W TDP CPUs as it features a 11-phase CPU VRM which draws power from a combination of 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS power connectors.
The rest of the features include four DIMM slots with support for up to 64GB of DDR3-2000 memory, two PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slots (running at x16 or x8/x8), two PCI-Express 2.0 x1 slots and two standard PCI slots. The 20Gbps M.2 slot (Socket 3, M key, type 2242/2260/2280/22110 SATA and PCIe x4/x2/x1 SSD support) is complemented with six standard 6Gbps SATA ports.
The GA-990X-Gaming SLI also comes with plenty of USB 2.0, USB 3.0 as well as two USB 3.1 Type-A ports, 7.1-channel Realtek ALC1150 audio, Intel's Gigabit Ethernet port, ambient LED on the motherboard, DualBIOS, Ultra Durable PCIe metal shielding and more.
Unfortunately, Gigabyte did not revealed any details regarding the price or the availability date but we expect it to be priced at slightly over US $100.
