AMD won't have many new CPUs in 2010, but 2011 looks rather
busy for them. As part of the new Lynx platform that should cover the mainstream
desktop market and use a Llano Fusion CPU, we will see the first AMD chipset to get
USB 3.0 support.
In 2010 AMD plans to launch SB850 and this chipset has
support for 14 USB 2.0 ports and if board manufacturers would like to have
USB3.0 with these chipsets, they will have to buy Marvell or similar chip to get
the support.
In 2011 with Lynx and Llano, the game changes as the USB 3.0
will be inside Hudson D2 Southbridge as well as 6Gbs SATA support.
